I joined the Black Mesa team at the very beginning of 2007 in January. My initial role on the team was as a texture artist, but since then texture work has been largely completed and I have helped out in other areas. Currently I most often work creating and skinning props for the level designers to use in their environments, as well as working with Valves Particle Editor to create particle effects.
RetCon is the result of an assignment at Uni. We were given the task of creating a playable game demo, with the purpose of pitching the game idea to an imaginary publisher (the course lecturers.) I have since decided to keep the project going and have been making progress in my free time that is not devoted to Black Mesa. I created all the environment assets and the Levels themselves for the demo.
